Launched in October 2023, Connecting the Dots is a community wellbeing programme, proudly supported by The National Lottery’s Connecting Communities fund. Based at The Old Rectory, Houghton and The Meadows, North Tyneside, the programme delivers a wide range of creative activities across North Tyneside and Sunderland.

HOW IT CONNECTS

The programme connects a range of sessions,

Flowing Through Anxiety – sessions supporting mental health and emotional

Circus & Swing –movement and creative sessions supporting mobility and social

Flow Troupe – developing confidence, creativity and performance opportunitiesFire & Flow – women’s wellbeing sesions focused on connection and self-expression

Participants may begin with one session and gradually explore others, creating a joined-up and supportive journey.

WHO WE SUPPORT

We support individuals who may face barriers to wellbeing, including:

Women experiencing anxiety, stress or low confidenceOlder adults at risk of isolation or reduced mobilityAdults with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)Stroke survivors rebuilding confidence, coordination and independencePeople seeking safe, inclusive and supportive community spaces

A CONNECTED COMMUNITY

Connecting the Dots brings together participants from Sunderland and Newcastle through shared sessions, performances and social opportunities.

These experiences help build confidence, reduce isolation and create lasting connections across communities.

OUR IMPACT

Connecting the Dots has supported over 100 participants and continues to grow as a successful and valued community programme.

Participants regularly attend sessions, build confidence and form meaningful social connections, often progressing across different activities within the programme.
